SKIP CARE PACKAGE QUALITY CONTROL SERGEANT
Manage and assist a small team of 3-5 volunteers with care package preparations for shipment. This position requires early attendance for scheduled SKIP packing parties and does require heavy lifting.

QUALIFICATIONS
The right person for this job will have attended a SKIP packing party within the last 6 months and have reliable transportation to and from scheduled packing parties. They will also be a team player, able to lift a 15-pound package 5-feet from the floor without strain, capable of teaching and directing 3-5 volunteers, passionate about supporting deployed US troops and the quality of care packages being sent to them, able to take direction and constructive criticism from others, and is willing to assist with other projects related to the quality of SKIP care packages.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Arrive 1 hour prior to scheduled packing parties to help set-up
- Prepare correct number of boxes for packing by taping, marking, and separating into appropriate groups (male/female and squad)
- Assist with packing and/or taping the care packages
- Teach and assign specific tasks to team members to streamline the process
- Help with tear-down and clean-up following packing
TRAINING
The Administration Committee Chairperson or the Executive Director will notify the selected applicant via telephone and/or e-mail. Supervisor and team members contact information will be provided to the selected applicant after verification that the position is still desired. Training will be conducted at the next scheduled SKIP packing party for the selected applicant. The trainer may be a SKIP board member, director, or other team leader.
TIME AND PLACE
SKIP packing parties generally take place on either Saturday or Sunday in the afternoon or early evening. The exact time and location will be sent out to all volunteers no later than 30 days before any packing party, preferably earlier. Estimated time requirement: 4-5 hours per packing party for set-up, packing, and tear-down
COMMITMENT
The selected applicant would retain this position for 1 year unless otherwise decided by the volunteer, the Administration Committee Chairperson, the Executive Officer, and/or the SKIP board of directors. The selected applicant may be absent for no more than 1/4 of all scheduled SKIP packing parties.
ON-THE-JOB SUPERVISION
The supervisor for this position will be the Administration Committee Chairperson or other appointed committee member or director.
