eBay's Giving Works
eBay Giving Works is the program that facilitates nonprofit listings on eBay, and is administered by the licensed nonprofit organization, MissionFish. Any eBay seller who has a current account in good standing can create an eBay Giving Works listing.
Anyone can sell an item on eBay and donate 10% to 100% of its final sale price to SKIP (there is a $5 minimum donation required if the item sells). The resulting donation will be collected and distributed to SKIP, and a tax receipt will be issued to the seller on your behalf (there is a small deduction from the donation associated with this service) if a seller creates an eBay Giving Works listing and selects SKIP to benefit from the sale.
Getting started
- Click on the "Sell" link on any eBay page—this will take you to the Sell Your Item form. Be sure to select the "Customize Your Listing" option to see the "eBay Giving Works" section!
- In "Choose how you'd like to sell your item," look for the "eBay Giving Works" section. (Don't see it? Click on the link that says "Add or remove options" and put a check in the box next to "Donate a Percentage of Sale.")
- Select SKIP as the nonprofit you'd like your sale to benefit by searching for "SKIP" after clicking "select another nonprofit you love"
- Choose a percentage of the final sale price to donate (note, there's a minimum donation of $5 if your item sells)
- Review and accept the eBay Giving Works Terms & Conditions—you'll only have to do this once!
- Complete the Sell Your Item form and submit your listing
You can also use Turbo Lister, Blackthorne, ChannelAdvisor, Infopia, Vendio, and Kyozou to create eBay Giving Works listings. To find out how, please check with your provider. If you're unsure whether your favorite listing tool supports eBay Giving Works listings, be sure to ask!
