SKIP Wants To Be Popular

Search engines rank your web page based on several factors to include, page title, keyword consistency and percentage, meta description, and inbound links. There are several other considering factors, but these are the big hitters.

Keeping it simple, the SKIP website is better optimized than any other website for certain keywords, its just not popular and that means lower search rankings than other websites. In the end that lowers the amount of support you and I can offer our deployed troops because relatively few people are finding SKIP online. How does SKIP become popular? Well, that's where you come in.

If you're on facebook, MySpace, LiveJournal, WordPress, Twitter, or any other social network, or if you have your own website or access to your company's website please link to SKIP. I've even prepared some html code for you so all you need to do is copy and paste into an html editor.

You can copy the html code from:

Thank you in advance for helping make SKIP popular!

Going to the Marshfield Fair

It's that time of year again, when SKIP volunteers gear-up for the Marshfield Fair! This year we have several shifts still vacant on our volunteer roster. We could really use your help. The dates for the Fair are Friday, August 21 — Sunday, August 30.

What's in it for you?

By volunteering to help at the SKIP booth for 4 hours, you get free parking and free admission to the Fair. Truthfully, in this economy, how could you say no? That's roughly a savings of $15 per person!

If you're interested in helping at the SKIP booth please email Frank at frank@skipcares.org

SKIP Leadership Changes hands

After more than three years as president of Special Kindness In Packages, Inc. (SKIP), Tracy Stiers, who founded SKIP in 2004, has stepped down from the president position. Former executive director and Iraq war veteran was elected by the SKIP board of directors on July 18, 2009 to become the organization's next president.

At the meeting on July 18, 2009, SKIP also elected Karen Montagano as the Assistant Treasurer on the board of directors, elected Shawna Mykes as the Youth Coordinator on the board of directors, accepted board member resignations from Heather and Jeff Jones, and Robin and Bob Bousquet, and welcomed Robin Bousquet to the Administration Committee where she will continue managing SKIP care package requests for deployed military members.
