20 Volunteers, 300 Care Packages
Last Saturday, June 13, SKIP volunteers joined together to prepare nearly 300 care packages for journeys across the oceans to their final destinations: our deployed military.
This shipment, which marked the first of 2009 for SKIP, swamped the local Post Office for most of this week as each package went through its own version of "airport security."
We would like to publicly thank all of the volunteers who were able to attend the packing party and also those who contrbuted with supplies and/or financially over the past several months. Your contributions will bring happiness to several deserving military members within the next couple of weeks, and we know SKIP can't do this without you. We would also like to thank the Board of Trustees of the War Memorial Building in Brockton, MA for allowing us use of their facility, and Cape Cod Cafe of Brockton, MA for donating plenty of pizza for our volunteers to enjoy after the work was done.
So, thank you all and we really hope you continue supporting our military with SKIP for as long as they want and need our support.
