Packing Another 300 Care Packages
Yes, you read that correctly; SKIP is back in action after a few months of what we like to call "preparation time." On Saturday, June 13, we invite you and your family and friends to join us from 2PM - 5PM at the War Memorial Building in Brockton, MA (address and driving directions below) to help pack another 300 (or so) care packages destined for our troops currently deployed around the world to places like Iraq and Afghanistan.
This will mark the first shipment of 2009 that SKIP has been financially capable of sending, and we greatly appreciate all of the support we've received so far this year. Many of these military members will be receiving their very first SKIP care package by the end of June and, from those of us responsible for the behind the scenes SKIP stuff, our hats are off to you for making that possible.
At the last packing party, we offered an opportunity for volunteers to sponsor a care package that would be packed that day and shipped that following week. This time, because several volunteers enjoyed that, we're doing the same thing. So, bring your checkbook or cash (sorry, we can't accept credit cards at the packing party) and sponsor a care package or two for $25 each.
For each care package sponsored, you will be given a certificate to fill out with your name, email address, and mailing address that will be placed in a SKIP care package that afternoon - this way, the receiving military member has the opportunity to thank you personally if they have time. But, we cannot guarantee that every military member will have time.
