The Closing Day of the 2009 Military Appreciation Month
We have made it through Mother's Day, graduation has taken place or is coming up soon, and the end of military appreciation month has arrived. Just because the end of the month has arrived we should not forget about those serving in the military. We cannot allow ourselves to forget about them or their families.
We must remember what they are going through or what they have gone through. Remember those that have returned home with scars from war whether those scars are visible or invisible. No matter what war they served in. And we cannot forget those that have given their lives so we may remain free, so our children and grandchildren have a future with the freedoms to go with it.
The sevice members have not forgotten you, they are doing what they are trained to do because they care for you, all of you. Just don't forget them, make it part of your daily lives to think of them, to praise them, honor them, and do not forget to pray for them and their safe return. If you see someone that is serving, or has served, extend your hand, smile, and tell them you appreciate your freedom.
The video today is a reminder of what thousands of families go through every day. They pray their loved ones have a safe deployment, they wish they didn't have to go but they understand why they do. It is not easy. They are afraid of what lies ahead. The goodbyes have taken place every time there has been a war and nobody can make them any easier. As they prepare to return home we hope they return safely and that is all we can do besides support them.
Thank you for allowing us the chance of bringing a little information to you about the military and it's history throughout the month. We hope you have enjoyed it and also learnt something new. But most of all we hope you remember those serving or that have served with honor and respect. Believe in them, believe in your freedom as freedom does not come free.
