Mother's Day
To All Moms,
This goes out to all the moms, and those who are like a mom, whether you have children at home, in another state, children serving our country, whose children are at home...while their mom serves the country, & especially those mom's with children, or moms that they themselves are, on hostile soil.
This is Mother's Day, a day that is set aside to honor all mothers. We honor you all, especially if your child is in the Armed Forces. You have sent your sons and daughters to do a job that can be dangerous. A job that has to be done, so we may all live in peace. We know you send them off with tears in your eyes. And for your sacrifice of being unable to share this day with them, the rest of the mothers of America salute you. We salute you for your faith and your courage. Mom prays hard and when she's done, she prays harder.
Know that you are remembered, that you are not forgotten, keep the pride and love in your heart. As children leave our homes a piece of mom's heart goes with them. Mom has to be patient, mom has to have strength to watch as they go to war. The children want to know their Mom is always there. A mom sends her child off with tears in her eyes, and when her child returns she will again have tears in her eyes...after all, she's Mom.
When a child serves our country...
Moms serve too, with their hearts on their sleeves until their child returns.
To all the military moms who are actually serving or have served our country, we salute you and thank you for your time and sacrifices you have made.

Dear Mother
Oh How I will miss you this Mother's Day
You'll be so in my thoughts, my first away
Past memories shared, I have locked inside
The same ones you keep, not a one denied
So close we have been as I grew by you
Now look at your child, I'm a soldier true
I feel that respect you instilled in me
From God through you, it forever will be
One day I may pass this on to my own
With memories held of what I was shown
Your worry for me must be hard to bear
Have faith, my dear mother, Let this be clear
Each time I do leave, keep your head up high
I love you so much, don't want you to cry
Remember that star which showed three the way
My spirit does soar like theirs did that day
Because you so cared, I stand proud and tall
Happy Mother's Day to you the best mom of all.
Mother's Day, How Did It Start?
The first celebrations of Mother's Day can be tracked back to the ancient Greeks, who worshipped mother goddesses Rhea and Cyebele.During the 1600s in England a special day was set apart as Mothering Day, a day of taking small cakes and trinkets to mothers.
In the United States the idea for Mother's Day has been credited to Anna Jarvis. The first Mother's Day observance was a church service held at her request in Grafton,West Virginia (the burial place of her mother) on May 10th, 1908. Because of her mother's fondness of carnations, Miss Jarvis wore one to that first service.By 1911 Mother's Day was being celebrated throughout the United States. In 1914 President Woodrow Wilson declared the first National Mother's Day, as a day for American citizens to show the flag in honor of those mothers whose sons had died in war.The United States celebrate Mother's Day on the second Sunday in May.
Happy Mothers Day to all
we hope & pray that your children - our Soldiers - come home soon.
